Position Summary
Pharmacist’s role of monitoring the supply of all medicines used in the hospital and are in charge of purchasing, dispensing and quality testing and management of the medicine stock.
Qualification
B. Pharma / D. Pharma
Skills
– Should have knowledge of Medicines
– Excellent written and oral communication – both Kannada and English
– Meticulous attention to detail
– Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems
– Knowledge of hospital management system
– Work Experience
Roles and Responsibilities
– Ensure quality of medicines supplied to patients
– Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable and advice patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients’ questions
– Supervise the medicines supply chain and ensure pharmacy premises and systems are fit for purpose
– To attend the doctor’s prescription at the sales counter and advise the dosage of medicines to the patients. In case the prescribed medicines not available, arrange the same from the in-house pharmacies for the honor of 100% prescription
– Substitution of medicines is to be consulted with the doctor
– Monitor storage of drugs under proper conditions of refrigeration and security
– Check quantity, MRP, batch number and date of expiry of the received items from stores before entering into computer Inventory Management & Sales
– Ensure physical stock maintenance according to category (Tablets, Syrups, Injections, Fluids, Ointments, Liquids, Capsules, Powders, Drops, Surgical, and Miscellaneous) twice a week and rack wise verification of fast-moving items
