Position Summary
The Medical Manager with expertise in Palliative Care will manage and oversee community and institutional palliative care services. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to patients dealing with chronic illnesses while supervising a team of healthcare professionals.
Qualification
– MBBS with Certification/Fellowship in Palliative Medicine
– 1-2 years of experience in community health, geriatrics, palliative medicine, or related fields
Skills
– Knowledge of palliative care principles, covering physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects
– Ability to work compassionately with patients and their families
– Strong leadership, planning, and supervisory skills
– Familiarity with MS Office (especially Excel) for reporting and presentations
Roles and Responsibilities
– Oversee and manage palliative care services in both community and institutional settings
– Engage with patients and families to provide holistic care and emotional support
– Commitment to serving marginalized communities

Since 2009, SVYM’s Palliative Care program has offered free, holistic care to patients with chronic illnesses across six centres in Karnataka. Serving over 8,400 individuals, the program provides inpatient, outpatient, and home-based services. It partners with institutions like MMCRI, HIMS, and DIMANS. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program ensured continuous care for vulnerable patients, demonstrating its commitment to improving the quality of life for those in need.
