Serving a catchment of nearly four lakh people, VMH works with rural communities and indigenous tribal groups including the Jenu Kuruba, Kadu Kuruba, Yarava, Soliga and Paniya communities.

The hospital brings together Allopathy and Ayurveda and provides outpatient, inpatient, emergency, surgical, maternal and newborn, diagnostic and specialist services. Its clinical work is connected with SVYM's community-health programmes and Government health systems, helping create continuity between community-level care and hospital-based treatment.

Beyond patient care, VMH serves as a centre for medical and allied-health education, rural workforce training and community-based health research. This integrated approach reflects SVYM's larger commitment to building the human and social capital of communities.
