Position: Music Teacher
Position Summary: Music Teacher for a residential school for indigenous tribal students in Hosahalli, in H D Kote taluk of Mysuru District. The teacher is expected to teach (classical, carnatic, tribal) music to the students and engage them according to the lesson plans. Proficiency in Kannada is a must.
Location: Viveka Tribal Centre for Learning – Hosahalli, in H D Kote taluk, (90 kms from Mysuru)
Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching music to the tribal students ( carnatic, indian classical, tribal)
- Giving exposure to the students in different styles of music
- Encouraging and involving with them to learn their traditional music
- Keeping the learning joyful, contextually relevant and culturally appropriate
- Encouraging students to participate in musical competitions and events
Skills
- Well versed in music (Carnatic, classical are preferred)
- Experience in teaching, preferably young children
- Effective oral and written communication skills in Kannada and English
- Proficiency Spoken Kannada is a must
Qualification:
- Certification in Carnatic Music, Graduate / Post graduate in related discipline
- 0 to 2 years of experience

Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,000/month
