Position Summary
Direct SVYM’s Education Sector in its delivery of services ensuring quality and timeliness. Mobilise funds and build partnerships with internal and outside partners to improve effectiveness of the programs.

Experience
This is a leadership role requiring relevant experience in the Development/NGO Sector.

About SVYM’s Education Sector
SVYM believes that education is essential for breaking the vicious cycle of poverty and catalyzing development. SVYM’s programs aim to create a conducive and joyful learning environment along with child-centric pedagogies in the schools. SVYM runs several education institutions and community based programs to build the human and social capital of our younger generations. 
Through its educational programs, SVYM reaches out to over 50,000 students and 2,000 teachers annually across the districts of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Dharwad, Kodagu, Kalaburagi and Hassan. Across the above programs, the focus is on –
● Education of the underprivileged with a special focus on the girl child
● Enhancing community participation
● Adoption of technology to promote learning & access to education
● Integration of vocational education

SVYM Institutions
Viveka Tribal Center for Learning (VTCL) – A residential school for the indigenous tribal groups of the Bandipur and Nagarhole National Parks of the Mysuru district. Over 500 students study in this school every year (1st – 10th std).
● Vivekananda Teacher Training & Research Center (VTTRC) – A teacher training institute offering both pre-service and in-service teacher training to youth from rural and tribal communities. The aim of the institute is to create a band of qualified teachers who understand the community and the context of education in rural and tribal areas.
● Viveka Scholar Program (VSP) – A scholarship program offering academic and financial assistance to meritorious students from challenging socio-economic backgrounds during their pre-university and higher education.
● Viveka School of Excellence (VSOE) – A day-scholar CBSE school (the only CBSE school of the taluk) for the rural areas providing quality education at an affordable cost in the rural areas. The school has about 600 students from Montessori to 10th std. The school is also recognized as a Sainik School.
● School Education Program (SEP) – Collaborating with over 300 Govt. Schools to enhance the learning environment by developing and deploying low-cost tech-based educational tools, promoting community participation in school management and capacity building of teachers.
