Location: Bengaluru or Mysuru, Karnataka

(Note: As we have projects across Karnataka, the Sector Head of Health must be willing to travel to all locations according to requirements.)

Job Summary

The Sector Head – Health is responsible for developing and overseeing health programs that align with the vision, mission, and values of SVYM. This role requires strategic leadership and strong community engagement skills to ensure impactful learning experiences for the community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Design, implement, and evaluate health initiatives that support the organization’s mission.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor staff in the health sector, volunteers, and facilitators to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with Government bodies and other organizations to expand program reach.

  • Funding & Partnerships: Collaborate with experts, well-wishers, grant-making organizations, donors, like-minded organizations, and teams within SVYM to ensure technical know-how and funding to execute the planned activities with desired quality and effectiveness.

  • Performance Measurement: Establish impact metrics and assess program effectiveness through data-driven evaluations on a periodic basis.

  • Policy & Advocacy: Demonstrate scalable and replicable models leading to adoption by other stakeholders. Participate in policy-making programs aimed at improving healthcare opportunities.

  • Program Administration: Manage budgets, resources, and operational logistics to ensure smooth functioning of the programs and uphold high standards of efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Statutory Compliance: Periodically review and ensure compliance with all the norms and bye-laws of the regulatory and affiliating bodies, Government, donors, and SVYM.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensuring documentation of all key activities and report to all stakeholders on a timely basis.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in health background, Non-profit Management, or a related field.

  • Experience: Proven experience in healthcare program development and leadership.

  • Operational Skills: Ability to manage budgets, grants, and project timelines.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and networking skills.

  • Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of healthcare trends, equity issues, and community development practices.

  • Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders.

  • Grant writing and fundraising expertise.
