A Collective Movement for Change
The Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) marked its 42nd Foundation Day on December 1st, 2025, celebrating over four decades of unwavering dedication to social development. Born in 1984 from the collective vision of young college students, SVYM has grown into a comprehensive grassroots organization committed to building a compassionate and equitable society free from deprivation.
Our work is deeply inspired by the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda, particularly his call to action and belief in the potential of youth for national transformation. We recognize that sustainable progress stems not just from economic metrics, but from the deliberate development of Human and Social Capital. This conviction guides our strategy to remain contextually relevant and culturally sensitive in all our operations.
The organization’s journey, which began with immense idealism, now spans multiple districts in Karnataka, employing a holistic model focused on four key pillars: Health, Education, Socio-economic Empowerment, and Training/Research. Adhering to the core values of Satya (Truth), Ahimsa (Non-violence), Seva (Service), and Tyaga (Renunciation), SVYM has cultivated a team of over 900 employees and forged strong partnerships to maximize impact. The 42nd Foundation Day is a moment to reaffirm our commitment to our founding purpose and to continue adapting and strengthening our systems for even greater social change in the years to come.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
