About Viveka School of Excellence – Sainik School 

• In 2022, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) approved the setting up of 18 new Sainik Schools

• VSOE is the first and the only NGO-run Sainik School of Karnataka with 4 other Sainik Schools run by the Government in the state. 

• Committed to quality education to the students in tune with the National Education Policy 

• Create better career opportunities, including joining the Armed Forces. 

• Nation-building by refining today’s youth to become responsible citizens of tomorrow.

Located in Saragur town in the Mysore District of Karnataka, Viveka School of Excellence – Sainik School (VSOE SS) is the first and the only NGO-run Sainik School of Karnataka. In August 2022, the Sainik School was founded as a new vertical within the well established Viveka School of Excellence, our CBSE school imparting quality and affordable education since 2002.

VSOE received approval as a New Sainik School under the aegis of the Sainik School Society (SSS), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The school is a unit of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), a nationally acclaimed development organisation (learn more about SVYM at svym.org).

The Sainik School is consistently ranked among the top Sainik Schools in the rankings published by the Sainik School Society, topping the list in August 2024. 

Currently, 128 students (6th & 7th and 8th std) are studying at the Sainik School. These students come from 9 states of India in addition to the local community. Our Sainik School is aimed at creating future leaders who will contribute to society in all walks of life in addition to a few of them aspiring to serve in the armed forces.

The school’s leadership is spearheaded by Colonel Sudhir Chengappa, a Kargil Veteran who is the Director of VSOE, committed to fostering academic and personal excellence.
